Chertsey Abbey: past history & recent discoveries

Enjoy an evening with Geoff Potter, Director of Compass Archaeology and formerly of the Museum of London Archaeological Service and Cotswold Archaeology. In this illustrated talk Geoff will tell of Victorian ladies in their crinoline skirts taking part in the first abbey excavations of the mid-19th century, before revealing details of the numerous modern digs he has undertaken across the site of the abbey precinct which have given rise to new interpretations of the abbey remains.
